Led by Shawn O’Connor and Dr. Susan White, Mazzy Health is run by a team of individuals with personal stories connected to teen mental health and a passion to create a platform where teens and young adults could improve their mental health while being part of a supportive community.

Shawn O’Connor

CEO & Founder

Mazzy was founded by Shawn O’Connor who serves as the firm’s CEO. Shawn has extensive experience as a successful founder and business executive, adolescent thought-leader, and Harvard professor.

Dr. Susan White

Clinical Director

Dr. Susan White is a Professor and Doddridge Saxon Chair in Clinical Psychology at The University of Alabama and Director of the UAL Center for Youth Development and Intervention.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in treating Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, Grieving, Relationship issues, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Mindfulness Therapy. I enjoy spending time with my adult children and my two amazing grandbabies.

Isaac

L.C.P.C., Ph.D.

Isaac is trained in evidence-based clinical interventions to support a wide range of presenting concerns, with a particular emphasis on cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, and acceptance-based approaches to the treatment of anxiety in adolescents.

Rita

Rita is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has helped children, adolescents and adults with a wide range of mental health and social concerns. She has provided counseling services for over 12 years with experience in anxiety, depression, grief/loss, coping with illness, trauma, relationship concerns, behavioral issues, coping with life changes/adjustment and many other concerns.

Alex is the center director of our in-person sister site, Oak Bluffs Therapy Group. She provides 1:1 therapy, leveraging an Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) advanced certification, and directly supervises other practitioners to ensure that all clients receives comprehensive care.

Teresa

My approach mutually evaluates my preteen and teens’ goals for therapy and my own responsive therapeutic approach. I am particularly concerned with the impact of loss and trauma and on improving interventions to support emotional, physical, and relationship health.

Sandra

Sandra is a strong therapist with a wide-ranging clinical skillset, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), Brief Strategic Family Therapy (BSFT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Multisystemic and Person-Centered therapies.

Brenda has experience in trauma, grief, LGBTQ+ issues, group counseling, and career counseling with children, teenagers, and young adults. Brenda takes a holistic, trauma-informed, and solution-focused approach using cognitive-behavioral principles.

Kristin

I am a clinical assistant professor and licensed psychologist. I specialize in treating and assessing adolescents, approaching treatment from a problem-solving perspective and help teens identify ways to cope, practice skills, advocate for their needs, and solve problems independently.

Chief Operating Officer

Luke is a teaching fellow at Harvard, a published author, and an advisor for health care and environmental companies. He supports customer-facing operations and oversees technology for the Mazzy platform and apps.

Mandy Grant

Director of Healthcare Strategy

Mandy has decades of experience in healthcare strategy and administration. She currently heads strategy and compliance for the healthcare aspects of Mazzy, as well as with recruiting top-notch therapists.
